    This is a great thread, Elvis also recorded "My Baby Left Me" and the record I recall sounded pretty much the same as this. I'm not familiar with Robert Pete Williams but this is a cool track. I don't know if I've ever heard chicken pickin' that clean from an acoustic guitar, it's usually the domain of the Telecaster!

    As this started with Elmore James - Houndog Taylor; one of the greats of Chicago blues guitar. Cheap guitar+blowing up amp+second guitarist+small drum kit - very much the model for the nu blues bands, although he was a much better player (and played without a slide and behind other Chicago blues artists).



    He may also have had the most famous left hand in blues:
