Finally I can ditch the digital amp sims: this gives an recorded sound that matches the sound in my head. The speaker sim is spot on - for the sort of sounds I like to hear, anyway.
Most of the sound demos on the Effectrode site showcase it's crunch sounds, but it does a lovely clean sound too. Here's a quick demo:
You lucky sod! I like Phil's stuff a lot. A few years ago, he did a limited edition, just 5 in total, of the Tubevibe. When i noticed this limited run, I rang him and he apologised as the last one had been sold - he kindly offered to make me Number 6 !! - the only thing i couldn't have was the purple bag that his wife had handmade for the other 5.
