But I ignored the sensible advises from Interwebs so... Win?!

Also, my neck might still be hurting enough that I need to take tomorrow off to seek medical attentions... yay...
Probably neck Cancer... or neck-aids... or neck-Black Death and having left it all weekend it's now terminal...

No. You may not have my stuff.

Work are going to be pissed. 85 days off last year... and only February and looking at 1+ days already. Oi vey.

This morning the pain woke me up, so hopped onto the train first thing to a local "urgent treatment center" which apparently ONLY treats injured people now... people in searing pain can go to GPs instead.

So waddled back to the station, then waddled home, called doctor, got comfy-ish to wait then went to doctor.

They gave me drugs - diazepam.

Apparently its a muscle spasm of rather large proportions and the diazepam should relax it enough to be able to move my head about properly which is what I needs to do to make it go away. Hurrah for nothing major! Though if minor stuff can hurt this much is it as minor as I thought? Hmm.

I suspect that their definition of minor is nothing to do with how much pain it causes, but rather whether there's any serious damage going on (or imminent). It's unfortunate that while pain is supposed to be the body's warning alarm, it does tend to overreact sometimes.

    Tru' dat.

I'm mostly just cross that even though there was NO ONE else at the Urgent Treatment Center they were "we can't see you as it's not an injury" after 30 minutes of waiting.

Either say right away, or say "to hell with the rules, there's literally nothing better to do right now, and I got into nursing to help people and there's a human being in pain right in front of me, I shall at the very least triage them, rather than tell them to sod off to their GP as that would involve leaving them in pain for hours to come"...

Yeah, I get prescribed short dose of diazepam for the trapped nerve I mentioned, couple of days zombified, then all better.

If you are still in pain it means you wont be able to move around properly which will lengthen the time needed to get full movement back. I would get back on to your GP and tell them the pain killers you have aren't working and you are sitting/laying to keep the pain down. My guess is they will prescribe a parallel short course of 15 or 30 mg Codeine. That should do it. Be careful about driving though.
