This is my 2 piece ash exact 62 replica .... I had it reliced to a mixture of Fruciante, Mick Mars, and Scott McKeons guitars . I honestly have to say its as good if not better than Fenders Custom Shop!! and alot better than MJT ....
I intend to load it with Kinmans or Amlfitano Daytona's with Hipshot hardware .... Its gonna take a while (cash flow) but will be awesome when done!!!

Ahhh so thats why you are selling off your pedals.

Im a big fan of frusciante, he is one of my favourites. Ash strats are epic as well.

How far are you off completion?

That looks very nice. I have a soft spot for this type of Strat myself.

I've been a big Frusciante fan for many years, followed him since the Niandra Lades days. I'm sure I read somewhere that he uses SD Antiquities in his '62. Dunno how true that is without doing research. Your choice of pups sounds good.

The body is absolutely top drawer by the way. I'm excited for you!

Sweeeet body, but not sure where the Mars connection is? Putting a Floyd and a big headstock neck on there?

A sunburst 1962 Fender Stratocaster would have an alder body. Ash is nicer though.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

When you say it's better than a CS, how are you comparing that???

    Hipshot trem? They are great.
I have Gassed badly so it looks likely I'll be breaking my partscaster up very shortly. Gutted! You can have first dibs on the trem if you want before I ebay it.

I was lead to believe that most were alder although few ash bodies slipped through as well!! I had a 63 custom shop fender relic frankfurt show edition and that was ash bodied too! Lovely tho ...
