Here's a guy who I think is a seriously under rated Guitarist. The one and only Boon Gould of Level 42. I always thought he didn't quite get the opportunity to shine in Level 42 although they did some great songs and Boon did do some nice guitar work in them.

I particularly like his solo in this Live Performance.

Solo starts at 2;48 and is over 1 minute long. When I wonder about Jazz styles, this sound is often what I get in my head. I cannot though work out exactly what scales he is sticking too or whether he is not sticking to a given scale. I have seen in other vids in close ups that he also has very good technique, very close finger control and good picking style and somehow his guitar seems to rest completely Horizontal instead of the slight angle that usually occurs?

Anyone knowledgable enough to give any insight on this playing style or what he is playing.

I always liked Level 42 and especially Mark King's unreal Bass spanking.

Come on Boon fans, educate me
