    Default Midi thru problem

I'm at a loss. On my software (a very old Databecker music centre which you have probably never heard of) I click midi thru to receive midi signals from my Evolution MK 49 midi keyboard.

It was working fine until one day I just stopped receiving midi signals. So the software is no longer receiving from the keyboard.

I reinstalled the software and the soundcard drivers but this did not work. I ensured the software was configured correctly to receive midi via the soundcard.

I had my soundcard checked out and it is in working order (Soundblaster 64V) - it still plays back and receives audio in.

I replaced the midi cable, still no use.

My assumption was that I might have damaged the cable or connectors as I moved the keboard while it was plugged in and may have stressed the cable or connector.

    Any ideas ?

You have almost certainly damaged the PCB behind the MIDI connector (usb or DIN?) this happened to my Evolution Ek49. Hours work to strip, remove conn'PCB, slobber it up and re-assemble...IF you have the bent of course!
