I went in the springtime about ten years ago, wouldn't go back.

Weather was cold, no heating in the apartment we stayed in, so the landlord had to get butane heaters in.

Not much to do unless you like watching the locals shoot birds as they fly over the island, or visit loads of churches.

Food was uninspiring and not exactly haute cuisine (rabbit stew anyone?).

Oh, and transfer over from Malta was by rickety old Russian helicopter that looked and felt like it should have been condemned!

Others might have had different experiences…

Is Gozo the island just over from Malta? If so I've been. I can't remember a single thing about it so take that how you will.

    All the info you need

Gozer, also known as Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor, Volguus Zildrohar, Gozer the Traveler and Lord of the Sebouillia An ancient, ultra-powerful, malignant entity from another dimension who was summoned to New York City to destroy the world. Gozer was originally worshiped as a god by the Hittites, Mesopotamians, and the Sumerians around 6000 BC. Gozer is genderless (though It first appears as a female in the movie). It was worshipped by the powerful Cult of Gozer. Gozer has two trusted minions – themselves worshiped as demi-gods – that are harbingers of destruction and primary agents for Its coming: Vinz Clortho, The Keymaster and Zuul, The Gatekeeper. Gozer has visited our world twice, in 1984 and 1991, both times assuming the form of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Malta is lovely, I'd love to take my youngest son there as we used to. We took the ferry to Gozo one day with another family. Malta is tiny, Gozo is even smaller - there are cars and some roads but it's teeny tiny.

It's not too developed the weather when we went was lovely, the beaches were nice - had a kinda cornwall feel to it, aside from the weather.

funny, I was considering the same, but thought not, too small. Go for Malta instead, and do Gozo on a day trip. Stay in Mellihea (spelling?), which is very near where you get the ferry to Gozo or Comino. Mellihea has the biggest beach, nice place, and is near to Golden Bay and Gahn Tuffieah (or summat) which are stunning beaches. As Malta is small, you can get around easily and see Medina (stunning) and Valletta (great place). There's a lot of crappy places though, like Bugibba, St Georges, St Pauls Bay. Malta is the 4 most densely populated place in Europe, something like 400k of people on an island that's very small, and they are further crammed in around Valletta. I liked it though, it has a pretty unique feel to it, sort of north African, Moorish, with people who speak English and Maltese at the same time.

Local beer is shite though! Oh, and we found it to be pretty cheap

Cheers fellas. Sounds like a vote of no confidence! I'll have a look to see if there are any nice villas in Malta instead.....
