    Default changing valves

    is it possible to change the power valves in a 65 twin reverb to 6v6's ? Im after reducing the volume of the amp .

    No, not without other work.

    Just remove two of the 6L6s - outer or inner pair. That will give you about the same power reduction* as fitting four 6V6s, and requires no work whatever.

    *Half - not very much in volume terms. Barely useful, really... but easy to try.

    THD Yellowjackets would be more effective - they allow you to run EL84s in a 6L6 amp and give a more compressed sound as well as less power.
