I mean, you can pick up a Mighty Mite neck for say £80-100. MJT necks on eBay US tend to be around £100-£150. Even the delivery and duty wouldn't take it anywhere near that.
So, two questions... any recommendations on a neck (Fender or not - if there's anything around on eBay as a BUY IT NOW, point me in the right direction), and what are the going rates for necks really? Preferably rosewood, I have two maple boarded Strats, so it's time for a change. I'm not bothered whether it's a small or large headstock.
I mean, there are Fender MIM necks on eBay for £200+!! I'm entirely baffled. What's good value? What should be avoided, and what would you buy?
I think Warmoth necks are very good, you can choose exactly the specs you want and even pick the exact wood (at extra cost). They ain't that cheap but very good value for the quality you get. Genuine Fender necks are no better, sometimes not as good but you will always pay extra for the 'F' logo.
I have a Mighty Mite neck on my tele (MM body too) and it's a *belter*. MM wood is USA, shipped to Korea to be made into guitar shaped wood, by the same people who do the PRS SEs.
I was watching that MJT neck. Their stuff is nice but £400 is insane when you can get a neck and body from them for £500.
For my strat I used a Classic Player 60's neck. I bought a whole CP60's Strat, then parted it out and sold the bits on ebay. In the end I only paid about £100 for the neck
