How was it priced? £1400 upwards seems the rate sadly now. Total bargains, (but dont tell everyone...)

Now this is the bad bit....its priced at 1999, so he wanted 300 + the 335....

Too much in my book really, a swap/trade would have been fine, but to fork out another 300 on top of what is already a nice guitar is where the whole "will I play/keep it" piece comes in...

The more I think, the better I will be just holding out for a bit..
    I'm a pedal addict....

Mine is a 1996 one. The neck is large, but very 'round' so far less obtrusive in the hand than something thinner with clunkier shoulders, but it's still obviously fat. Because I played it and only it for a couple of years I find it easy to switch to. I have the same "argh what is this bloody thing" reaction you're having when I pick up your average "modern C, medium jumbo frets meh-ness" that most things on shop walls are these days. You get used to the heft in your hand, it's comfy.
    Red ones are better.

Sadly, shops never do straight trades unless your item is definitely worth much more than theirs and won't be any harder to shift. They've still got profit to make, as you noted in your previous post.

Interesting that you mentioned big neck fatigue - that is exactly why I sold my Baja Tele and eventually ended up with a MIM Standard. But other big necked guitars are no trouble at all for me. I played my PRS Single Cut with Wide Fat neck for 3 hours last night at rehearsal and had zero hand discomfort at all. It just depends on how a particular neck fits with your hand I guess.

I find large necks equal little or no fatigue for me, I think I have bad 'thumb over the top' rock technique though as I fret low notes with my thumb a lot and use my thumb to do half barre chords etc. Plus my vibrato is heavily pivoted around my thumb as an anchor. So for me a fat neck equals support for my thumb.

It isn't necessarily 'bad technique' though as it is the only way to play certain chords from certain positions.

Ironically - it is thumb over chord discomfort that stops me using some big necks, especially SGs. I have a large palm but relatively short fingers, so I need something a little smaller to let me get my fingers round more when doing thumb over chords. It just varies from guitar to guitar though. I could play an R8 but not an SG, I couldn't play a Baja Tele but I can play a PRS Wide Fat.
