    Really good point!!! I was given a pickup years and years ago, can't remember what or when!! , and the pole pieces were miles off to the point where I didn't use it. From reading the last few posts I guess I could have done?

    If you look at how far the real 72 Tele Wide Range poles were off at the neck pickup you'd shudder ...

    It's really good to know that string/pole alignment isn't critical though. I had genuinely thought it was!
