Default Is this a Fender 60s reissue? Opinions wanted

    Hi guys,

This was described to me as a 1960s reissue usa strat body from 1999. In lake placid blue. I'm new to strats but does this description sound correct? Any advice appreciated.

    cheers

Almost certainly not. Pick-up routes look nothing like any vintage style genuine Fender body I have ever seen. Lots of extra scratch-plate screw holes too... The colour is NOT Lake Placid Blue either.

It may be an off-shore Fender (Mexican, Japanese, Korean, etc) - I have no recent experience of those. I would have money on it not being an American Fender. Early Japanese Squire routes were pretty much vintage correct.

Nope. It's nothing like a 60s reissue body.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Cheers guys. I've contacted the seller. He's got a 100 percent feedback rating so hopefully he'll refund...

Those holes look like the scratchplate was swapped, you get that if you put an MIJ plate on a western body and vice versa. A few holes line up, but others don't.

If he doesn't do so willingly, just make a claim via PayPal who will refund you.
