I did go back to the retailer when it initially went wrong, and they took it, gave me a Laney TT50 combo as a back up with no questions asked but then struggled to get in touch with their contacts at Cornford. So, it stayed in the shop a couple of days and still no contact, so I took the step of taking it on myself.

No fault of the shop, they took all steps they could but if nobody is in touch then they're kind of stuck. They did offer to drive it to the factory for me but I decided, as above, to take this on. Pigheaded, Moi?!

The shop was Mac's Music in Herne Bay, Kent. Can't fault them on this and I was rather taken with the TT50 as it turned out!

I should mention that it was a Roadhouse rather than a full on handwired job. However, I thought it sounded fantastic and would have so loved to keep it. I have since heard that there were problems with thie initial runs of this range, which were sorted fairly quickly I believe.

Movement on the Cornford forum, it looks like Paul Cornford has been posting. Interesting stuff, and a real corporate mess by the looks of it.

    How long have you got?

In any case it looks to me a bit like there may have been some questionable practices going on, but I'm not going into print about that here, you'll have to sign up to the forum and have a read!

There is an interview in this months guitarist magazine with Guthrie, and its commented on he's using a prototype Victoria amp designed by Paul Cornford

If that's the case, then who is involved with its production (as opposed to its design), I'd like to know.

I don't know if that's clever wording on their part, as you point out a good question, or just a an under complicated sentence in that designed/built are the same thing.

The whole amp is skirted over with one or two lines suggesting he can't all too much about it as any good guitar journalist would ask. "Tell us about this Victoria amp" if he could ask

Hmm. Was it a quote from Guthrie? (Not seen the issue. I don't buy guitarist since they stopped doing the disks).
