The Korean origins of these guitars often gets raised - usually there are two views expressed; 'what's wrong with a guitar made in Korea?' (nothing in my view) and 'what does it matter where it's made, if its a great guitar?'

PRS manufacture their SE like in Korea and are completely upfront about these instrument's source. Street prices seem to be around £600-£700.

Dusenberg's approach is to endeavour to sweep the Korean part of their supply chain under the carpet and price their products at US Gibson & Fender levels. Whether they are 'worth' these prices when judged purely on their merit as instruments is missing the point. Like Blackstar's liberal use of phrases like 'pure valve' and 'engineered in the UK', Dusenberg show a willingness to be less than entirely open which I don't like.

They are worth it, and hold value too, but whether they would hold it as well if they came clean...

Impressive in that its opaqueness is worthy of a politician. It doesn't really answer the question asked, does it?
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

These guitars are drool-worthy. If you want to hear what they can sound like, listen to Joe Walsh's latest: Analogue Man, this guitar's all over the cd.
