If you activate a delay patch, then turn the time knob all the way to the right it turns into musical notes rather than ms values. THen you just find the dotted 8th and tap your tempo

Digital delay with mod, 3 or 4 repeats, mix high, time set to dotted 8th mode - you turn the time knob all the way clockwise, then it switches from milliseconds to note values. Then you just turn the knob anti-clockwise until you find the 8th note with a dot icon. Then tap tempo as desired.

The mod settings want to be fast and shallow - I can't remember the settings on the M13 off the top of my head but you want the modulation to be about 4 or 5 hz (so every second it goes wubwubwubwubwub) then dial the depth down until you can only just notice it. That's how you get the shimmery, deep quality.

You basically want the mix as high as it'll go before the dry sound starts to get quieter, as the M13 delays seem a bit more subtle than other delays I've tried.

For old school U2 (Boy to War) use the analogue w/mod.

One of the big parts of the U2 delay sound is that he runs his delays into the front of his AC30s. No effects loops there. So the repeats get a little compressed by the amp. You might try running a gentle compressor AFTER the delay effect if you're going into a totally clean amp.
