MMA won't work because tournament format MMA doesn't really work. Any sport where you usually need a month off between bouts is not going to get featured at the Olympics.

Squash should be in, golf out. Wrestling should stay in IMO; it's a minority but reasonably popular sport, which is what the Olympics should be about.

Tend to agree with you on golf. You should not be able to smoke while competeing in an Olympic sport. Might as well have darts. The thought of Jockey Wilson or Andy Fordham with an olympic medal....

The decision may be changed as wrestling is one of the 'original' Greek Olympic sports. A review will be held in September.

Hopefully it'll stay then. However if they do have to get rid of it, i think replacing it with Olympic Scrabble would be acceptable. I'm currently hooked on Words With Friends, btw. I nearly had Oxidized last night - across a triple word score square and the X was on a triple letter score square. Then someone stole the space and put fucking Ono in instead. Whatever that means.

Not a shame at all - did you see the Tae Kwondo in the last Olympics? It was like Irish Country Dancing... no punches... wtf?! And Gemma Howell getting disqualified for aggression after using a move that's been removed since the last Olympics?!

Seriously the Olympics are no place for martial arts, as inclusion requires the removal of totally valid attacks - history shows that destroys martial arts for generations; Funokashi's desire to promote Karate alongside Judo in the Japanese education system is seen to have reduced it's effectiveness - removing throws, chokes, strangles, arm-bars, wrist-locks etc.

Having golf in the Olympics (not for the first time, though) is as daft as having tennis or football. If you don't view an Olympic gold as the pinnacle of achievement in your sport, there should be no place for it in the Games.
