Default Poised to buy a van

Vauxhall Combo 1.6 same 8 valve engine they put in cavaliers, 52 plate, also runs on lpg. Clean & tidy example, 58000 miles. Honest John gives 'em good reports, except the engine in their reports is the Fiat job.

IMO they don't hold the road like a Ford Escort van, but at the price of this I'm not going to argue.

    Any thoughts?

You'll have to pay commercial insurance even if it's not being used for business. They had me like that when I bought mine. It can't be insured privately like in the good old days.

then I heard not sure if its right or not but you can transfer your NCB to a commercial policy but then you cant transfer it back if ever you sell and decide to get a car again!

No I have standard insurance for my Peugeot van.
But explain exactly what you are using it for.
I'm looking at getting another van, but looking at the Nissan vanette. Can't afford anything too new, but they seem a decent price.

We had Combo's at work for a while. Not bad vans & nothing really went wrong with them so I'd say you'll be all right with one. The only things I hate about Vauxhalls is their horrible orange LED dashboards and nasty stereos.

when did this change ? and whats the reasoning behind it ? You sure it isnt just in Ireland ? Not arguing, just confused cos a quick 3 minutes google, would seem that plenty of co's offer private van insurance

co-op insurance. they insured my pickup truck cheap when nobody else would touch it from the usual suspects.

but wont the lpg tank reduce rear storage?

best small van ever made was the citroen c15, bulletproof peugeot/citroen 1.8 diesel, they haul like a train, great mpg. we drove our old one to spain and back multiple times carrying furniture, never a hickup.

very small wheel arches inside, tons of room for gear:
