Not just the smiths! The Cribs record with his is amazing, as is the Modest Mouse one. In Fact, he rarely puts a foot wrong! Thankfully he didnt join Macca band when he had the chance!

Electronic were pretty good in their way too.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Yeah I know but my point was that I was surprised that the forumite couldn't name a Smiths song.. I'd be less surprised if someone didn't know the names of Cribbs, Modest Mouse, Electronic or The The songs.

Having heard a couple of songs off his new album (and his last - under the Healers banner) I have to disagree that he rarely puts a foot wrong, though

I could name a few Smiths songs but I didn't know who Johnny Marr was or that he was in The Smiths until now. I didn't know who George Lynch was but I know a fair bit of Dokken, same with Mark Tremonti - it's not a given that just because you've heard of the band, means you know all the members by name

The problem is that if this filters back to Joe or Slash ... we'll be snowed in signature lunchboxes with 'special secret stash' compartments and complimentary 13.5% by volume wine gums!

Is Joe Bonamassa the new Zakk Wylde when it comes to being an endorsment whore? Fair enough that he's probably one of the more significant names in the guitar world to come along in a long while, but talk about spreading yourself thinly! His marketing department certainly earn their money! Still awaiting the Fender Joe Bonamassa Black Country Communion sig Strat however!

I'm looking forward to a Seasick Steve 'Trance Wonder' Sig guitar!

If one is talking who in the last ten years has done more to spread blues to 'non blues' punters ... thus making him a significant name ... I think Mr Seasick is probably more significant than Mr Massiveboner. Also I think as a plus Gibson could probably copy the Trance Wonder without having to worry about their dodgy quality control
