    Default mesa dual rec 2x12

I bought a mesa dual rec cab from rocky road distribution years ago. It is all leather and came with 2 back panels. One for totally closed back and one half back. It weighs a ton! Do the early recto cabs have any vintage value?

Not vintage, but someone might pay more for an early leather one. If you can get anyone to pay the insane prices they sell for normally you can probably get them to go a bit further for something more unusual.

I think they're good cabs, they're just a stupid price for what is a fairly standard plywood box containing two standard speakers.

I agree - silly money for a box..
Having said that - it's like a tank! The only downside to the leather covering is that it means the cab needs to be nursed.
I like the half back / closed back option too.

Ah, but it's so low that in order to project properly it needs a stand, so you just get a flightcase - assuming you can afford it after paying for the cab, or move it without a forklift - put it on that, and kill two birds with one stone...

Does the half back go cross-ways, or is it like a Road King cab where one speaker stays closed-back and the other open?
