I find the motorway signs a bit of a challenge when they say something like "25 minutes to junction 11" or something like that. I always try and beat the time to prove them wrong.

I saw an outstandingly stupid message on the M25 yesterday, but I have completely forgotten what it said. Can't have been that irritating, after all... Werther's Original, anyone?

I've always wanted to hack into the matrix signs to make them display what I want at will. Stuff like "Mr Jones.... yes, you... in the red Ford'.... (that should cover several drivers), then the next sign would say 'Your wife is shagging your next door neighbour'.

Or 'DANGER - MOTORWAY COLLAPSED AHEAD !', then on the next sign 'Naaah... only joking !'.

When I was on holiday a couple of weeks ago I got talking/drinking to this Aussie chap who is the head honcho of the traffic systems in Perth and the surrounding areas. He very proudly told me that all the "green light corridors" in Perth are a result of his control of the traffic lights, including the most recent one which was for the "esteemed" government minister William Hague... I told him they should have made the twat walk to the airport rather than according him statesman-like honours... Anyway I asked him if anyone had ever had the urge to put something mischievous up on the matrix displays and sadly he shook his head seriously and implored me to believe such juvenile antics were far beneath these serious public servants... Quite disappointing really, much like this post I suspect
