    Default Recommend me a combo

Now then! I've recently made the transition in bands from metal to blues/classic rock- my 100w Marshall and 4x12 are going to be a bit much to cart around to pub gigs - what can you all suggest for a 50w or less combo that's not silly money ( £500 or less )
As far as OD goes, I've got a Radial Texas Bones to throw into the mix if needed!
    Cheers in advance folks

Mesa DC5, Peavey Classic 30, Egnater Tweaker come to mind.
There are loads of options though.

If you can find one (and don't mind the slightly quirky look) the Wharfedale TCT combos are really good. They're designed by amp guru Steve Grindrod and have now been re-badged as Albion amps http://www.albionamps.com/

A TCT35 combo sold on e-bay just before Xmas for £129 which is ridiculous for an amp of this quality - all valve, 1x12, 2 channel, a digital reverb & a plywood cab. RRP a couple of years ago was £689. The 50w combo is even more flexible with the ability to mix the channels together for a third option. One was up for sale on this forum late last year for about £300. Definitely worth a punt if you see one.

I would have thought a JCM800 or JMP 50 watt combo would have been ideal.

You should be able to find either for around £500 for the 2x12 combo. A JCM800 1x12 combo would be less money.

Even a JCM900 combo would not be a bad choice, and a bit cheaper, although I refer the sounds of the 800 and JMP amps.

If channel switching is a necessity then the JCM800 or 900 is the way to go.

Are you selling the head? If not you could consider getting a 2x12 cab, you could always use a pedal to get a different gain sound. Might be the cheapest option, so worth a think

Hot Rot Deluxe ?. Superb cleans and take pedals really well or, as octatonic suggested, a Classic 30. Both practical and gig worthy.

Fender Blues Deluxe and some pedals.

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe would be my recommendation.

Marshall DSL 401 if want something more Marshall flavoured.

If you get the Hot Rod then put a better speaker in it. Something like a Weber 12F150.

While we're on the subject of Peavey, The Delta blues seems like it would be a good fit for your style. 1x15, or 2x10. Many of the above selections sound solid as well.

I know feck-all about Marshalls though, so I can't help you there.
