JXG Guitars Esquire FOR SALE OR TRADE (Gibson ES/ LP)
I have decided to move on my JXG Guitars early 60's replica Esquire. It's a great guitar but really need the funds at the moment. I had it up for sale last year but decided it was too nice to part with but alas, needs must. Here's the spec:
Here's the spec:
Braz rosewood board
Ash body (one piece)
Correct decal applied
Lightweight @ 6.5lbs
6105 Frets
Deep 'D' style shape neck carve, not too chunky but not ultra thin
Compund radius 9"-14"
Genuine early 60's neck plate
Aged Oly white finish (not heavy relic, I'd say more closet classic or light relic)
KTS Ti saddles
Bareknuckle 50's Broadcaster pickup
CTS pots, cloth wiring and PIO cap
Wired like an LP Junior, Vol & Tone only (dummy switch fitted)
New fitted case
It's here as well, by no means great quality I know but it's all I have of the guitar so far video-wise.
Your right about the quality of these guitars, they are masterbuild jobs, I may be getting a strat done of them same guy soon, lots of talk in the Northeast about these guitars, and his reputation is impeccable, and you must have paid a pretty penny to get it built as well. I just bought a Blonde 72 tele, you know this, so can not buy another right now.
your timing is absolutely shite. I was sifting through some unopened statements 2 weeks ago and found some money I didnt know I had. I said "That's guitar money that is", she said "That's 3 weeks all inclusive in Cuba...". I immediately discounted that sentence. Although Cuba was lush (terribly poor and impoverished, but lush nontheless).
And what did I do? Dropped a grand in John's pocket for a deposit on a '58 Gibby LP Jnr DC TV build. Which is a good thing to do, but I woulda driven up there over The Wall for that at £1k.
SHITE TIMING that man. I'm quite sure this post has not filled you with joy.
Cheers, Jason.

Reason: Grammar
It's what I call a dead account fella. Get paid into current account, immediately an amount goes into that account for mortgage, car, bills, insurance yap yap. Anything left accumulates.
Thought I'd zeroed it at Xmas cause I rarely venture there, but apparently not. Which was nice. I may earn more than I think I do. Haven't opened a salary statement for yrs. Hate all things to do with money/finance. Generally upsets me.
I'll be honest and say I was a bit like that until my previous employment ended. (Cheaper to import than manufacture in the uk).
Just consider myself to be lucky to have a job despite loosing my home.
Thanks again folks, appreciate the kind words about the guitar very much. 'Tis indeed a great player.
Not sure if this helps anyone but I now could be open to using this as a trade or part trade towards a Gibson 335 or Les Paul of some kind. Ideally maybe a modern production 335 or a CS or vintage one with issues (335 and LP say under £2k in outright value). If it kept the costs down for me buying an ES or LP then I'm happy to use the Esquire here.
