What wifi router should I be a-gettin?

There is probably a web interface- try putting in the routers IP address into your browser.
It might be 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1

You should be able to configure it there.

My bright box is gash. Any routers the ISP provides seem to be a bit poo. They never give full N speeds either.

i managed to change mine to channel 4 and it seems a bit better. I'm going to try channel 9 now. such fun

Much better sticking to channel 1, 6 or 12 to give you a full free spectrum around you.

Can you see what channels your neighbours are using? My Netgear wireless dongle allows me to display all the local networks, so I can choose an empty channel.

(There was a piece on the BBC website about wi-fi crowding in London, and how free wi-fi from councils may make it worse...)
