Default Chest pains, shortness of breath...

...really hoping it's just because the room's really hot this afternoon and I've had a hell of a day, slightly worried that it's more serious though worth asking if I can bugger off early?

If your in a school go to the nurse and take a BP reading. If its off kilter then hit the doctors. It could be anything, but it is not a symptom I'd not have inmediatley checked.

Phone GP to discuss. Or even NHS 24 (08454 24 24 24). They will likely send you to the nearest drop in centre or A&E.

A bad day in a hot room shouldn't really cause chest pains and shortness of breath, so you should definitely get it checked out asap. Could be nothing, but best to be sure.

given the forums tendency to send peers to a&e for such ailments as "not knowing the time" or "putting sugar in your tea" i would have thought that any thread with the words "pain" and "chest" in the title could easily be avoided by simply burying onesself in the garden with enya on in the background

A combination of those can be very very serious. i.e. 'not knowing the time to put sugar in your tea'.

The sugar just doesn't dissolve if you put it in after the milk.

    Ring NHS direct.

I had the same thing and it turned out to be stress related and not a heart problem, but you don't know so get it checked.
