Was going to make a thread about this myself actually! Yeh, i'm looking forward to it, despite all the controversy over online-only play, etc. I'm going to wait for the first wave of user reviews and if it sounds as good as it looks then i'll be on it like a tramp on chips

I've just waded through a bunch of simcity forum threads to check the online/offline thing. And it appears that it will be online only - you were right.

Which means I'll not be buying it. Where's the tearful smiley gone?

Neither my laptop nor my desktop are likely to be crying ... but I might be. SimCity is the only game for which I've still got all the old versions in my cupboard, because I loved playing it so much. But I can't do an on-line only game, so I'll not be playing this latest one. There's another £35 saved.

Nope.

You need the connection to their servers to register, to save progress and to load saved games. And their servers are not being available.

I've never seen anything get so panned ... Out of 107 Amazon reviews, 101 give it 1 star, and Amazon US have pulled it.

What a waste of a great game ... And all those developer hours.
