    Default Brit Pop Nostalgia

It feels like yesterday, doesn't it? The nineties were truly an exciting time for British music. However, I think in the end it became too much of a good thing, and the brit pop or "indie" era just died a death. Despite that, my record collection is full of classic albums, and I still continue to discover new stuff.

    For me, the highlights were:
The Bluetones - Expecting to Fly
    The Verve - Urban Hymns
    Blur - Blur
and only discovered last year, Sleeper - The It Girl

And I don't care if you disagree, I think Oasis' best record was Be Here Now.

Any favourites? Stories? Do you long for the good old days?

I loved the first Mansun album- Attack of the Grey Lantern.
The follow up wasn't too shabby either.

Kula Shaker were ace at the time, though a bit cheesy now...

    I agree with that.

Somewhere, that reprise from "All Around The World" is still going on.

Of course! I loved their debut record. I had a crappy cassette copy of it, and played it every day!

When I finally got a CD player, I slowly built up a collection of Charlatans records. Tellin' Stories sounds as good today as it did back then. There's not a bad track on it.

In It For The Money by Supergrass is a spectacular record as is Different Class by Pulp.

Definitely Maybe is the best Oasis album, no question.

Aye, nostolgic for me, was at Uni in those days, but very much concentrating on playing in bands. Was in a regular brit-pop hopeful band, only claim to fame was supporting Mansun for one gig in Portsmouth, oh and the Animals on another gig (!).

Modern life is rubbish is the Blur one for me.
Never a massive Oasis fan, could certainly make up a good compilation though.
    Also liked Pulp.
What I remeber more than anything though was having Radiohead The Bends on rotation for about 2 years.

Good shout on Supergrass, heard Caught by the Fuzz in a pub the other day and remembered it is 2 minutes of pure pop genius.

How did I forget Supergrass!? There'll be more that I've forgotten.

Shed Seven, Black Grape, The Seahorses etc...

Radiohead's The Bends was the record that made me want to learn how to play guitar. High and Dry was the first ever solo I learnt to play. Ahh, nostalgia..
