You seems to have misspelled Morning Glory there..

    .

Agreed. In fact I'd actually rate the second album (confusingly titled Six ) as one of the best albums ever.

90's highlight for me has to be Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible.

Also liked Marion, James (still great live), Definitely Maybe, Electronic, Stone Roses and, to my shame, Sleeper.

Suede's first two albums for me.

Loved Kula Shaker as well, still listen to K in the car quite regularly.

My wife was actually listening to the Bluetones yesterday, the one with the peacock artwork.

Has anyone mentioned Ocean Colour Scene yet? I've heard some recently and only just reliased how it shaped my guitar playing, all those Steve Cropper licks.
That and the Seahorses for me when I look back on it but I was a big Oasis fan too.

I liked Sleeper too, and James. Couldn't stand Electronic or work out how two former members of truly great, influential bands could produce such forgettable drivel. But there you go...

I always had a love/hate relationship with anything described as "Britpop". Loved some of it (though didn't think it was always "Britpop"), hated a lot more (and also didn't think it was always "Britpop").

Loved Blur, hated Oasis. For example .

But mostly the 1990s was when I was going off "guitar music" in general and exploring all sorts of different stuff, so that probably explains it...

Writing boring papers for Uni gives you plenty of time to get distracted. I made a playlist. What do you reckon of it?

Although, I'm kind of limited to what I have on my itunes, and I don't like having more than one from the same artist. It feels like cheating.

Loved all those bands and still do.

Whether you like them or not, the impact Oasis had on music, fashion and British culture in general was pretty phenomenal. I'm not sure we'll see that again for a long while (if at all). Morning Glory will always be my favourite but Be He Now evokes so many good memories. i'd just left school when it came out, i actually missed collecting my GCSE results because I'd bought the album that morning and spent the rest of the day round a mates listening to it. That summer between school and college was amazing, Be Here Now was its soundtrack. I was gutted when they split as they seemed to be finally finding a new direction with their last album. On the brightside, Noel's solo stuff is brilliant.

Ocean Colour Scene and Steve Craddock in particular were a massive influence on my playing. I still listen to Mosely Shoals a fair bit, Marching Already had some good moments but they went downhill from there.

The Shine compilation albums were fantastic, still got a few kicking about.

How can you forget Longpigs!? The Sun is Often Out is an awesome album.

    Ah memories.

The Charlatans "Up to Our Hips" is one of my all time favourite albums.

So is "Pills Thrills and Bellyaches".

Cast was another band from that time. Just been listening to the Seahorses "Love is the Law" and Inspiral Carpets "This is how it Feels".

    Blur and Radiohead.

Also Muse. You know, back when they didn't write for stadium and were compared to Radiohead all the time. Definitely not Britpop. Nor is Radiohead. Or Blur, really...

Not oasis though. Never tickled my fancy, despite how easily pleased my fancy is.
