    Fair Play.
However, you might want to keep an eye on this one on FEEBAY.

I would advise him to put the Extra £200-£300 into getting the rosewood, not just because it looks better, but if he does not like it, well the rw will sell faster, if i had not just bought a strat, also the maple ones tend to have chunky necks, so that is something to consider, some are really chunky as well, we all have opinions, mine is based on how rosewood feels under my fingers, I like open grain, rather than the maple with finish on, that finish they stick on maple boards is horrible, especially in the summer when its humid.

+1 on the Maple necks being chunky , mine was way bigger than my 50's LP akin to a Broadcaster baseball bat although a very flat fingerboard , sounded Duller than Blackpool on a wet wednesday ;(

Yes my leaning is still with the rosewood but mainly because I am a Les Paul player mainly I guess. I know exactly what you mean about open grain under fingers etc.

    Thanks for the postings guys

Each to their own mine's maple and I love it and you don't see Eric Clapton complaining doing all those summer shows in America.
Regards chunky necks the EJ Strat is a soft V which is how he wanted it so I would assume that people who do not like chunky necks would buy a different Strat(?)

Whats Eric Clapton got to do with it ?, how do you know he does not complain lol ?, you in touch with him like haha, I, each to their own, if people don't like chunky necks they can get the RW one, as it's not chunky, and it looks better IMO, or and it will be fine in those summer nights ha ha ha ha ha Joke

All my guitars are rw boards now, sold my last maple one few weeks back, I did have a maple one I liked a lot a wile back, but the finish on the fret-board was worn in places, but rw has always been my calling, a LP would not be right with a maple fret board, i know gibson have models with maple fret-boards, but that would not appeal to me, everyone is different though, i am just the rw kinda guy
