    Default Anyone Playing Dishonoured?

I'm currently playing through Dishonoured on the PS3.

What a fantastic game, really enjoying playing something where you have the freedom to do things your way.

It's very obviously steampunk Deus Ex, but then that's no bad thing.

    Oh yeah...

It's BRILLIANT! I still haven't finished Deus Ex 18 months on but I'm really loving Dishonoured. Hoping to grab Far Cry 3 next once it's a bit cheaper.

Deus Ex is brilliant but is unfortunately broken as it's a game that supports a non lethal stealth play through, but has boss fights meaning you can end up facing some walking tank armed only with a tranquilliser gun.

The original Deus Ex was far better than Human Revolution simply because it didn't have boss fights.

Dishonored is excellent. Fantastic atmosphere, genuinely flexible in how you approach a level... excellent all round.

Far Cry 3 was very good too with just the "scripted" bits letting it down a touch.

The only bits I hated (and I do mean hated) in FC3 were the weird boss-level-supernatural sections (which might be what you mean now I think about it) - the rest I really liked.

And yes, Dishonored (grr @ being forced to spell it the American way ) is brilliant too.
    Red ones are better.

I haven't played the original. I would really like to as it is considered one of the all time greats, especially since reading Masters of Doom where it was the only good thing to come out of the nightmare that was Ion Storm.

Very true. I'm pretty sure that's why I put it on hold.

Still haven't finished Dead Island or Skyrim yet either. Or Ico. Or SOTC...

Yup - those bits in particular. I loved the open-ness, the whittling away at the island, and those seemed jarring against the rest of the game.

I might give it another go - I fear it may have aged poorly.

The trick is to put all your early points into the smart bomb weapon (Typhoon) as it will even kill bosses in 2 hits. That way you can ignore the boss fights.
Apparently they were done by a different developer from the main game and considered a major balls up.

I'd have no trouble with the DE:HR bosses if there was a sneaky way to kill each one- drop a chandelier on them, electrify the floor, etc. Sounds like the main dev and publisher are aware of that particular shitefest so hopefully the next one will be better
