Default FS Burny MIJ LP Custom.

    Hi All,

Here's my Burny LP Custom that I bought off of Rhys (JDBWales) of this Parish about a year and a half back. He believed it to be a late 80's/early 90's LP custom and at the time needed it's 13th fret repairing as there had been grooves etc in the fret so the strings would get caught.

I've since had that repaired but now the nut has come off and I hidden itself somewhere in my room! I'll have a thorough look around for it but I doubt it'll turn up so assume that this guitar will need a new nut which isn't an expensive proceedure.

The guitar does have tarnish on the tailpiece/bridge/tuners and pickups but it's purely cosmetic, everything works, the saddles on the bridge haven't seized up and the tailpiece is fine. It's not had any strings on it since the nut went which was a few months back so the neck might need adjustment. There isn't any pickup switch tip either.

Now this is a lovely guitar, the white finish really has turned in to an off-white through natural age as you can see if you look at the removed bridge/tailpiece and if you remove the pickguard it's a pretty pure white underneathe!

The fingerboard is ebonized rosewood, so it's been dyed pretty dark colour but it's a nice tight grain and smooth, the frets are of a low profile but still have life left in them by a long shot. I believe it's mahogany all over (I checked under the pups and couldn't see a top glued on) and it's heavy-ish, not sure weight wise but it's a meaty weight, probably like an LP Trad. It's no anvil around your neck though!

The pickups are the original VH1 pickups and the wiring is all stock, only has one scrap on the bottom of the guitar on the bass side and a dent on the back which are pictured. There are a few minor bumps apart from this but it is a true "players guitar" (hate that cliche)

The neck feels like a 59 to me so it's a nice profile, no dents/warps/issues with it at all!

I CANNOT find a serial number on these. I've heard as they're "Lawsuit" guitars most didn't have a serial number but the pots say 90 so I guess that's 1990. Rhys had it looked at by one of his local stores and said it was around a late 80's/early 90's MIJ LP. It feels really lived in though and sustains well and has a lovely actoustic timbre to it.

The pickups are VH1 pickups which are PAF like so low-ish output I believe, been a while since I played it to know for sure!

With all this in mind I'm looking for £350 picked up from me, £370 delivered.

I am based in Uxbridge, just off the M4 but I can probably deliver around Central London this week only (March 4th - March 9th) if you'd be so kind to add another £5 on top for a delivered within central london price (for my oyster card) that would be appreciated!

If you guys want anymore info/pics let me know! No trades I'm afraid guys.

    Thanks all,

    Neil.

If I a) had more money, b) wasn't moving to another country and c) already definitely had too many guitars, I'd be all over it!

I know for a fact, Brother Fiddle, that one can fit many guitars in a shipping container and you would surely be doing the environment a disservice if you sent a crate over to the desert not fully laden.
Somewhere, somehow, somebody must've kicked you around some

I wonder how many of those Burny customs jdbwales had, I bought one off him too. I reckon just about every LP in the country has been through his hands
Bump for a bloody great guitar.
