For years I have been trying to find out who this artist is. The Band were called Birth and the main Songwriter/Singer/Instrumentalist named himself simply as "D.L". On a couple of webpages I found the name Dawm Lanten(D.L) stating he was from Bournemouth UK, but currently rewsiding in NYC.
I bought their single "Found a Way Out" back in 2000. I think it's a fantastic track. It got quite a bit of airplay at the time on our local station in Sheffield so I was amazed it never charted, at least I don't think it did.
Here's the link to the song, it really is worth a listen.
There is very little information if you google the band/song/D.L whatever. I can't find a chart reference and they have no wiki page. The only Dawm Lantern source is his Myspace page.
On the inner sleeve of the CD single it states that Blue Weaver(Keys) and Steve Holley(Drums) played on the track/album also as Sax player named Willy Fahey. The album was recorded at Jacobs Studios, Surrey. There is also a cover of "Changes" by Sabbath on the CD single.
It's amazing that someone who recorded an album with a couple of famous musicians could stay this far under the radar. It's virtually as though the band/artist never existed. I'm sure the album would have had some great tracks on it. It has 3 good amazon reviews and some minor info on the band on the same amazon page.
