Default Calling all Nova System & Flashback users!

As much as I hate to start another a vs b thread I've got a bit of a bee in my bonnet!

Basically what I want to know is does anyone have any idea as to how well the delays on the Nova System stack up with the Flashback. I don't care about some of the Flashbacks modes, I purely want a warmish analog delay and a pristine digital delay.

    My current setup is this:
Guitar > modded Boss CS3 > Way Huge Green Rhino > H&K Tubemeister 36 > ISP Decimator > Source Audio Programmable EQ > EHX Small Stone Nano > Malekko 616

In time I want to add chorus and reverb pedals to the chain, as well as potentially the Flashback. So I'm at a point where the Nova System (run in the loop) is looking a better option in terms of switching (can also switch the amp and EQ via midi), portability (be looking at a bigger board if I got those extra individuals) and as a all-in-one backup for my backup head (which does not have a loop anyway).

Anyone been disapointed with the Nova Systems delays compared to the Flashback?

If I had the NS my chain would be:
Guitar > Tuner > CS3 > Green Rhino > H&K Tubemeister 36 > Source Audio EQ > NS, with a possibility of changing the Green Rhino to a Nova Drive for the MIDI switching.

While on the topic of the NS, I've noticed a lot of online retailers bundling a polytune mini with it. This implies the tuner is shite on it to me? Also, NS compressor in the amps loop - any thoughts?

The nova tuner is not shite but it is fiddly.... I have a polytune on my board as well as the nova but will happily use the nova one if needed.

Never tried a flashback but the nova delays are superb.

BTW my nova is about to come up for sale if you're after one. It's my 3rd or 4th, lost track. I love the flexibility and the sound but then I get the hankering for stompboxes again and go back. Then I wish my set up was a bit more programable and get another nova. Wish I didn't need the cash and I'd have 2 boards, a nova and a stompbox one ready for that eventful day.

    Hey thanks for the reply.

There is a possibility that I'll be in a position to buy a nova system end of march, depends on a situation at work that may require me to be away for a week, which would result in a nice little paycheck bump!

There seems to be a bit of bad feeling towards the nova's preset changing time - is this due to the 'change on release' nature of the switches or is there a noticable delay do you think? Could be a deal breaker.

To me it's just the change on release that is the delay.

I use mine with a midi buddy pedal so that I have 10 presets at my feet and can still use the individual stopmboxes. It took me a small
amount of time to get used to it, 2 rehearsals at most so I just stomp on the pedal a little early then release it when I want it to change. I think that is all. I'll have a little try to see if there is any further delay and let you know.

Got rid of my Nova (second excursion into digi which failed - long story). Flashback replaced a Maxon 999 couple of years back, still there so it must work.
Nasty, brutish and slightly above average height
