Mic suggestions for mic'ing to PA.

Anyone offer up suggestions for preferred mic to PA for a small valve amp (Peavey Classic 30)? Cheers. Ady

The old favourites are your friends SM57 or Senn E609 however placement is the key. Try micing cab from the back for a better/different sound

I like the Senn E906. It only tends to pick up whats in front of it, so when your sound guy brings up your channel he's not bringing up half the drums as well. Shure SM57 is ok for a cheap mic, SM58 actually works better than 57 on guitar cabs if the stage area is really small and all the amps and drums are close together.
