New kit bits and pieces

I've christened this 'percussion corner' :


and the arrival of new stands (see below) means I can finally properly mount my splash


I've spent some time playing around with my setup, including dropping the 12" tom to have a 1 up 1 down for a little bit after seeing one used with aplomb in a covers situation. This was fine, but with my limited stands I couldn't really capitalise on the new space for the ride.

So, step 1 : sort some proper stands out. I picked up (locally) 2 s/h Gibraltar boom stands (which are solid enough that they may still be around to play with the cockroaches if the balloon goes up . . .) and I set about sorting things out.

I threw the 12" back in place and immediately felt the better for it - when you're a newbie you don't have many tricks, and rolling aimlessly around the toms is one of them and I want to do it dagnabbit !
