    Default Yamaha vs. Roland

    Hi all,

    Same old boring question...

Due to recent developments I am only able to thrash away on my acoustic set at restrictive times.

Therefore, I am looking at buying an electronic kit to alleviate the situation.

I've done my research but I'm struggling on making my final decision - Yamaha DTXpress IV or the Roland counterpart (some say TD3, others TD6).

I'd be greatful for any advice to help me whip out my pile of cash and buy the bloody thing!

    Cheers,

    Leroy

Hiya, it really depends on how much use you'll give it, Roland are by far the best and the mesh heads are as close to the real thing as you can get, but they are really expensive to buy and if you aint gonna use it all the time is it worth the price. I have a Yamaha DTXpress 3 special with loads of add ons and it's brilliant, got mine from ebay at a very good price and have bought loads of add ons from various places, it does all I need it to and have to say it sounds great.

    Hi Haga,

Many thanks for the advice. I've found that reading reviews are a good way of finding the low down but they are always biased toward the piece of kit that being reviewed!?!

I appreciate your time in replying to this - I think you may have helped make up my mind!

    Cheers buddy,

    Leroy

    I agree.

It does get annoying - I just want it now! But I do spend a phenomenal amount of time checking out reviews, asking questions etc. even if it is just to make sure I'm doing the right thing!

    Cheers mate
