Love Ozric Tentacles; got into them via Gong, Hillage, etc.
Had one of their early tape-cassette albums and then the Afterswish compilation, plus a couple of others. Didn't know they were still going.

well, I am an "X Factor hopeful" according to this web page counters.
Tried Gong but they didn't stick. Zappa came close but obviously not the same sort of thing.
Oh man, those early tapes must be worth a packet now. Did you order them from the band themselves out of interest? I know they where really DIY when they started (and today to a certain extent)
I think I got the tape from a local shop called Rock-a-Boom, here in Leicester, but I might have got it from Selectadisc in Nottingham, I don't remember.
It might be in my loft, with most of my other tapes.

I love tapes. Collecting these things is now a part time obsession haha.
The Ozrics mail order stuff got them off the ground and popular due to cutting out the middle man.
I had Jurassic Shift on in the car last week - great album!
Spiral Mind
Yeeeeeeaaaaaaah! I remember learning this on the guitar (and Bizarre Bazaar). It's evocative of some groovy times, man. I didn't buy it, so it must have been the ol' tape-to-tape, "home taping is killing music."
Now on tour April/May, USA leg now over, UK, Europe and beyond coming up over next couple of months, a band worth supporting IMO.
