    Default Catalinbread - worth it?

Anybody familiar with Catalinbread FX pedals? Spotted a 'Chili Picoso' on eBay but have heard mixed reviews of them ranging from extreme praise to extreme distaste. Any first hand opinions?

You'd be MUCH better off with the Catalinbread Hyper Pak that's on eBay

Anyway, sorry, not played the Picoso - have a bump

Yeah I saw the Hyper Pak too. You reckon it's justifiable at that price second hand?

It's mine ! Sorry I thought I was being obvious enough - but yes it is me selling it. No idea if it is appropriate for your needs so just ignore me! Price-wise they're double that new - I think it's a decent price, but eBay will dictate in the end I guess

Rumbled! Thanks for the honesty! I'll keep my eye on your eBay listing as the common vibe seems to be that there is a waiting list for new models and so far nobody seems to stock them this far North to actually try one. Sound samples seem pretty cool though.

Yep - very cool - a bit different too imho - it's a harder-edged sound than most of the Screamer-like stuff out there.

Just be aware that mine is the Mk I with just one knob so may not sound exactly like the 2-knob demos that are on Youtube etc - same kind of sound - slightly less flexibility is all.

I've been looking at the one too, currently £19.590. I used to have one, very good boost, but I sold it. I now have my own Catalinbread / SHO clone I built as a booster.

I do have the SCOD which is very very good dirt pedal. Catalinbread are a pretty good company IMO and Nick who owns it seems like a good bloke whenever I've dealt with him.

But these boutique boosters are all a bit of a rip off IMO, this and the Zvex SHO cost about £20 to make but sell for £100.

If anyone wants a booster I could build them one ?

following your own logic then, they'll cost £20+pp ?
