Probably not worth it. When they came out the (few) people who tried them raved about them, and everyone else went "But it's Zoom so it's rubbish". They didn't sell well so Zoom discontinued them. Now they're rahter highly sought-after.

When they were still being made I tried a few and didnt like them sonically. Personally I wouldnt buy one even now, but I think theres probably still a market. The original 505 however, wish I'd never sold that. It was crap but it had awesome sounds for all its crapness.

Well I had a good go through the Hyperlead this evening : did a frankly awesome sound when I was practising a Muse number - then turned in a very good Evanescence too - result.

Will be away most of the w/e so won't get to play with the PD if it arrives tomorrow
    Red ones are better.

Are they though? I get the impression that those who own them like them and that those who don't don't give a monkey's!

Just look at the prices they're going for - as much as the original sale price.

<ahem> - everyone - they are shit. Reeealy shit. It's all just internet facts - they are no good. If you see one for sale, do not buy it - just post here (with contact details) so we can laugh !

Nah, buy cheap, buy bulk and sell high when the time is right.

I've had the Tri-Metal and the Hyper-Lead and found them both very fizzy. OK if you turn the treble all the way down, but I always feel there is something wrong if you have to use extreme settings to get a decent sound.

Which isn't to say I didn't like them or that they are bad pedals or anything - if you get the settings right they are really good and very well made...they were just more of a curiosity for me rather than keepers.
