    Default BOSS PW10 wah

    Hi folks,

Just taken a punt on a second hand one of these off good ol' Ebay. I've used VOX/Crybaby wahs in the past but just fancied a change this time around. Didn't even have a wah recently as I don't use it much but I'm starting work on a new project and I think it might be quite a good acquisition for it.

Basically just wanting a few tips and tricks from any owners of these here if possible. Can these run quite happily off a 9v battery or do these use a lot of juice (and therefore require a PSU)? I have a board already made up (Tuner, Option5 Rotary Sim, Box of Rock, OCD and Room Mate) so don't want to split that, just really want to patch it in using a battery and patch lead if I can. Also, any tips on the various models/ wahs used would be great too.

Also wondering if these units are of the usual BOSS bombproof style of construction too.

Cheers and many thanks in advance,
    Hugh

I've not used it with batteries - I suspect it might go through them quickly, being digital, but I'm just guessing there.

I do use one via a daisychain though - I really like the flexibility of it - personally I use the 'MO' model most although the 'CRY' model is great for full-on funk whakkoh-whakkoh. but any of the settings can be tweaked with the range knob, and the 'custom' setting means you can genuinely create your ultimate wah. It's silent in operation and has the drive settings if you want/need them (I never use them - except accidentally as embarrassingly admitted on a recent thread ) . Lovely pedal imo, and as you suspect, very robust. Nose around eBay and you may get one s/h for £50-ish
    Red ones are better.
