    Talking Nice people at Marshall

I asked the repair people at Marshall if they'd have a look at my old-style Guv'nor pedal (square-ish black case) as it would cut out intermittently for no readily apparent reason. They returned it recently having worked their magic for a very reasonable price. It was nice of them to be bothered with such an old product, they could have told me to go out and buy the new kind.

I'd forgotten just how much fun it is. It sounds like a JCM800 on full chat.

They've always seemed helpful when I've phoned them and bought bits 'n' bobs.

Has anyone had an amp serviced and how much roughly did it cost? They said you bring your amp and they give you an estimate on the spot, but wouldn't commit to figures... so as I'm not using my JCM900 for gigging I wouldn't get it serviced so it can sit around the house. Once I'm using it though, I'd like to make a day of it... getting the thing services and a factory tour. The place is only 44 miles up the M1.

I had my old VS 8080 serviced there years ago.

I booked in - got the tour and then because "it was a part that should never have failed anyway" they didn't charge me anything at all!

Top stuff. With service like that I wish they built a bass amp worth having.
The Reverend Lord Henry was not one of those new-fangled parsons who carry the principles of their vocation uncomfortably into private life.

A few years ago they fixed the tremelo cct on my Bluesbreaker combo with the same friendly efficiency . I don't think they charged me for it.

Same here. Left it with them for a week.

Came back and they actually hadn't fixed it, so they stuck it back on the bench and fixed it, while I looked at all the awesome photos with autographs - big apologies, though I didn't get a tour (or dust cover)

Here in the states, we have to get service at an "Authorized" repair facility. They do good work and honor Marshall's warranty, but not nearly as friendly or acommodating as your mates in Milton Keynes. Will try to get the tour next trip over to your fair island.
