Latency with the UAD at least mainly happens with Logic, Cubase is a lot better cause the audio buffers can be set smaller to minimize the problem.
In Logic you are stuck with 2 sizes -- normal or large.... Logic 5.3 on is supposed to be better/completely fixed.

well.. heres the verdict I (and you) have been anxiously awaiting to hear:

    THE UAD-1 ROCKS!

i cant beleive it, i'm runnin a rusty (ok it was top of the line in 99) 500 P3 custom DAW. I bought the TC powercore, tried it, locked up my computer. ok , calmed down after that frustration. told the dealer i wanted an UAD-1 instead. just installed it tonight. Im playing my mix thru Cubase 5.1r1 with the Powered Plugins... f@ing amazing. the mix is so much clearer and punchier. using the LA-2 and 1176 compressors, 2 realverbs, CS-1 plugin, not even using 45% of UAD-1's CPU and only 20% of its memory! Not to mention lightening Cubase's cpu usage by 40%! Man people werent kidding about this DSP card. I say for less than $600, get this baby. It kicks ass!

quodos (enjoying his brand new toy )
