    Default FS: Epiphone Firebird Studio

Pretty much as new, I would like to hang onto it and put some new pickups into it.
The stock ones aren't bad, Epiphones take on the Gibson '57 Classics - but they lack the edge you get with a set of seymour duncans.

Cool steinberger tuners, really nice veneer.

    Cost me £299.99 (RRP £439.99)

I'm open to sensible offers, as I've said - it's practically the same as when I bought it. It's just been hanging on my wall for months. This is the same limited edition custom shop version that was awarded 5 stars in Guitarist magazine (i think)

That's well nice. Even if it is a Studio!

Ah right, I wasn't aware that the Firebird studio was a standard run.
Either way, it's a good guitar for the money - I can't say im normally a fan of Epi's.

I was looking to get an Epiphone Les Paul custom some time back. They looked nice, but just felt and sounded cheap in my opinion. Tokais are far better and were actually a bit cheaper in the shop I compared them in!

However, this Firebird is really quite nice - for mellow clean stuff it's excellent. I find it good for playing stuff by G'N'R because it has a lot of clarity - the pickups don't really distort enough for stuff like AC/DC and other more raw punk/rock music though.

I do have a set of Alnico Classic PAF's by ToneRider I was toying with dropping in.
As it happens though I can't really afford to, I've got to raise funds for car insurance and an MOT soon - keeping a bloody car on the road is getting ridiculously expensive!

Probably worth noting that this isn't a Chinese guitar either, this one was made in Korea.

Whereabouts in South Wales are you dude? And any idea how much postage would be to the West Midlands if I can't collect?

I know I'm making noises over someone's Washburn N2 at the minute as well, but this Firebird makes me happy in the pants.

Be better if it was black (or white) though.
