    They were sometimes sold as a Les Paul Personal. Les played one of these when I saw him.

    Tim & Boogie are right.

    Les Paul Personal. Never ever seen one and they're apparently rarer than a rare thing.

    This was my dream guitar when I was a spotty youth in the mid 70's. Have seen a couple for sale over recent years and If I remember they were not an outrageous price.

    the same ( or very close to) the Les Paul Recording (1971-1978). Low Impedance pick ups made them v unpop. Used to have one in musical exchanges in Brum they couldn't shift for years and years.

    Not quite--Les Paul was never known for rocking, but rather a clean jazz tone.

    When I saw him, he used a Sansamp pedal to DI into the PA.
