    Default OHMYGOD it's not WORKING

greetings. I'm using a Mac G4 1ghz with 512mb of RAM and Cubase 5.1VST. My problem is this...

I installed OhMyGod the other day and forgot to try it out. I finally got round to trying it today and found it doesn't work. When I select it as an insert effect on a channel, it just says "Sorry, the plug in failed to install" and sits there stubbornly. Any ideas?

Are you sure you installed the correct version from the cover CD? There are two versions there, one for OS classic and one for OSX

on my cd, there was one marked "carbon" (i have the latest version of carbonLib) and one marked "os8". I use OS 9, i take it I should have installed the non-carbon version then?

    cheers

Yep. The Carbon is for OSX/jaguar only. OS8+ will work in OS9

Why are you disapointed? have you fully explored it? Have you tried sending MIDI note information to the plugin, effectively playing the individual combs like an instrument? Do it with some drums, you'll be amazed at the results

yes i've tried that, it's just nothing new. There's very little left that hasn't already been done effects-wise, it'll take something BIG to amaze me. Saying that, I like to combine real-time timestretching with rigid step-comb-filtering for glitchy sounds. I'm just waiting for a timestretching VST effect, as far as I know, they don't exist yet...

I am impressed - I think it's a good, free, replacement for most of the other filters out there because it sounds so good, and does have some great features.
