hi-hat techniques

What is the best technique that i should be using for 4 quick notes on the hi-hat in:
right-left-left-right.?
been having trouble because of my weak left hand
how tight should i hold the sticks?

You could always play open handed with traditional grip on the left hand that leaves room for both hands to hit the hats at different angles.

Try alternating between the hats and snare that is fun 16th notes

I am new to this but with practice it all comes eventually

im tying to learn roxanne by the police and that particular part is after the first break

also would you have some advice on some new cymbals for a rock drummer
