i don't think david gilmour has ever run out of room for bends, and he's more bendy than you'll ever need
I have 8 inches in my back passage (true story!)

Yep: I hate the contour too. If I play a Strat type for a while my wrist hurts like hell. Ibanez Blazer's were slab like with no contour, wish I could find one of them cheap!

I tend to go through phases (or possibly out-of-phases? WAHEY!) where I find different guitars the most comfortable/easy to play. Sometimes a Strat seems like just the ticket, others it goes straight back in the case.

I do tend to have terrible posture though, and a strat can encourage me to slouch a bit if I'm sitting down.

I'd definitely say Marc Bolan ran out of room on a bend though.

As for the bends, not a single one I've managed to fret out But my action is very high. I'm not all that fussed about low actions. All of my guitars, except the Yamaha, have quite a high action.
yeah, my tokai has a v-neck. i like it, but that mightn't be helping. also i got it second-hand off the net, and it's an 80s one, i think it could use a refret/crown too so that's not helping with the bends.

er... ok? different things suit different people... maybe he uses a higher action than i do, for example...

though as i said, maybe i just need a refret.
