I already saw the pics, it all checks out. But it is no anniversary model as far as I know. It does however have the maple cap showing through the binding and the mahogany body.It was an improvement in recreating the Les Paul model, since this was also done in the old days.

Yeah, I have just spent some time searching for "special" editions of Les Pauls from 2003.....cant find anything apart from custom shop stuff.

Really wierd, I swear to Christ that it said something in one of the magazines?

Although I seem to recall it being an "anniversary" model, thats what I have been calling it since I got it (i actually thought LP's first came out in 1953) maybe it was some other description they had for it then? Not that I can find ANY reference to anything being special about a 2003.

Anyway, anyone want a great LP that may or may not be some sort of special instrument?!

I think LP Standards had a revamp in 2003, didnt they get burstbuckers then and had minor changes to make them more authentic?

Maybe its just that then? Man, for 6 years now I have thought it said "anniversary" in the magazine.

The revamp was 2002. I bought one when they came out then they changed again in 2006 with the chambering, etc.
