er..........like every singer in every band I have ever been in.

I digress but where is the logic in this? Guitarists, bassists and drummers all spend a fortune to get a good sound. Singers (in my experience) turn up without even buying a mic - never mind a PA. I read recently on some american site that guitarists fund PA's in band more than any other players.

    IT REALLY ANNOYS ME!

    can you tell???

    Totally agree Rob.

I've spent well over £6k on "our" PA.

The signer wants a wireless mic - but "doesn't know what to buy".

It's the Prosound stuff from Maplin :

The amp is this one without the bridged outputs. That's no big deal though unless you'll be driving a single sub from it - which I assume you're not?

The speakers are 2 of these :

lol. yep - been there, done that. But remember never to suggest that because you've forked out for the whole band's PA that you might deserve a few quid more at the end of the gig coz that "just isn't fair".

    Its a tough old world!

Hence why we have a new drummer. The old on thought that was "out of order".

Geography wasn't happening for me even in Brum as it's still a right old treck from even Bournemouth

I managed to pick up a 600 watt Yamaha EMX powered mixer, couple of 400 watt speakers, cables, stands and all that shite for £220 off Gumtree as a package which should do the job. Singer was pleased that not too much of an outlay.

She just needs to nab her powered monitor back off one of her old band mates so we can use the whole 600 stereo watts out front and we're in business just in time for the first gig in 5 weeks.
