Default Fender 70s US reissue or 57 US reissue?? HELP!!

    Guys,

Been offered one of the above in a deal with my PRS.

But, can't make up my mind which to go for...

Originally, the reason for the sale of the PRS was to cure my GAS for a 70's Strat..

The 70s US reissue is a gem, Olympic White, Rosewood neck and really fits what I was after.

Maybe shove a set of spare Hot noiseless that I have, rough it up a bit, maybe a relic plate and I'll have a good looker - shove some black knobs and pickup covers and voila Blackmore clone...

However..., there is also a Black 57 reissue available with maple neck and looks really nice too.

Then the 57 is in black, shove a black scratchplate on it and voila, Gilmour clone, shove a spare set of noiseless in it and voila Clapton clone......

I have a sneaky feeling that I will still end up gassing for a 70's (Hendrix vibe) if I buy the 57, but the 57 also puts some really nice options on the plate.

Can't buy the 2, so what would you do????

57 reissue every time for me. But I don't like 70's Strats so its an easy choice.

Sounds like you've answered your own question that you would still want the 70's version if you got the '57. therefore let me be the enabler and say get the 70's. Oh, and put a Clapton Mid-Boost kit in it!

    Neither, buy a Les Paul.....

Seriously though, I like the 50's ones more but each to their own!

    Good Luck Wayne
