    Hobnobs or bust I reckon.

Both venues I'm talking to also have a licensed bar and food available.

I would insist on PAT testing everything before doors open to the public and swapping is encouraged.

So guitars, amps, pedals, cables, synths, keyboards, effects units, recording equipment, cables etc etc

I've added a poll to gauge interest in my venture.

I'm thinking July / August time as a prospective date here in sunny Exeter!

I promise to bring biscuits and you can hold me to that!

Why dont you just have a biscuit sale instead? Im sure you would get lots of interest. I know the guys over at the biscuit forum would go.

I'd love to come along to something like this ... but location makes it a bit of a no-no unfortunately.

Great idea though ... how about an extra day alongside the next Gasfest thingy?

We have a local contact for cheap hotel; rooms in the city centre, so you could make a weekend of it!

I think the main issue would be finding enough sellers. As buyers I don't believe would be a problem.

Summer means the city is full, people have time off from work although the downside is the city will be busy and so people would need to get here early or face the wrath of parking! But then every city is the same.

I have two secure locations that I am in talks with, both have access and nearby parking.

Costs would be fairly straight forward for hire of venue. Advertising could be interesting though.

I have placed similar posts on a few UK Music forums to gauge response. If the need is there I will put on the first event in July or August on either a Saturday or Sunday.

We have the ability to PAT test all electrical items and would ask all sellers to fill in a consent form for I.D. and would invite the local constabulary to visit.

So no goods with missing serial numbers etc etc

As I don't want any dodgy equipment sold that could harm people or that is stolen.

Keep your thinking caps on everyone and don't be afraid to play devil's advocate.

How would payments be facilitated? Taking a pocket full of cash to a carboot is OK when you're spending 50p & £5 at a time ... but who'd be bringing £500 in cash just in case they found a great guitar/amp/etc?
